About Me
Hello, my name is ariu. I'm a high school junior from Indiana and a man of many passions. My strongest one, however, has to be improving the state of medical care. After spending countless hours in the medical field, I've realized something that increasingly being forgotten in the 21st century: the most powerful force in healthcare isn't just technology—it’s the human presence that keeps medicine from becoming mechanical.
What I'm trying to become: A physician who understands that technology can be leveraged to develop workflows, but also realizes that there it can't hold a mother's hand while delivering bad news.
What I'm not: I'm not someone who always knew what they were destined to be. There wasn't some 'a-ha moment' that I underwent, but it was the positive experiences I've had with the medical industry throughout my life that caused me to choose this pathway.
What This Site Represents
This website is a living extension of my soul. It's an attempt for me to think in public. It represents me online, and the various snapshots on the Internet Archive show my personal growth over the years.
The projects and posts on this website aren't put online because they're perfect. Nothing is perfect. They're posted because the process of reflecting on mistakes cultivates growth. Henry Ford once said that "The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing," and this website is an attempt of living by that philosophy.
I maintain this website not only for my benefit, but because I hope that the people enjoy my messy and evolving intellectual curiosity. It may inspire others to do it!
How This Site Evolved
I started this website in 2021 to practice my front-end development skills. Now it serves as a digital documentation of what I love to do. It's an online version of who I am, and who I'm becoming.
Around my freshmen and sophomore years, after spending numerous hours in medical care throughout my life, I've started to develop a new interest in medicine. I started seeing medical professionals as my heroes, and I hope to give others that same experience. I'm documenting this transition now because that's what this site is for: thinking out loud, even when I'm still figuring things out. This site captures real intellectual evolution, not a manufactured narrative.
